- Congratulations to SRB member John Aitken, who has just been announced as winner of the prestigious Simmet Prize for Assisted Reproduction for 2012. The Euro 50,000 prize, named in Honour of the founder of Minitube GmbH (Germany), Ludwig Simmet, and presented under the auspices of the International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR), is awarded every 4 years in recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Assisted Reproduction of Animals in the prior 5 years. John's work in applied andrology and fertility research has led to the award in the face of strong international competition.
John will be presented with the award, and deliver the keynote address, at the forthcoming ICAR meeting in Vancouver, July 29th - August 2nd 2012 (see http://www.icar2012.com/ for more information).
- Congratulation also to Dr Tamara Leahy, who won the TJ Robinson Travel award enabling her to attend and present her research at ICAR 2012.
