Lynne Selwood

At Sydney University, Lynne did research on molluscan reproductive biology; MSc (1963) and PhD (1967), while she dabbled in student politics. She had postdoctoral positions at the Universities of NSW (1967-1970) and London (1972-1974), where she developed a lifetime interest in the mechanisms of early development. After her return to Australia (1974), she worked at the universities of Monash, LaTrobe and Melbourne on marsupial early lineage allocation, evolution, conservation, and development of immunocontraceptive vaccines. She has published more than 100 scientific papers. She is a Distinguished Visiting Scholar, Christ’s College Cambridge and an Honorary Life Member, Australian Mammal Society.
